A Grandmother Who Walks to Protect the Waters

My friend Paulette Moore sent me this video about Josephine Mandamin, a grandmother who has been walking the Great Lakes basin since 2003.

I keep running into women who are taking a stand to protect the water. Water is more than 70 percent of our bodies, is essential for all life, and is not replaceable. It’s not worth sacrificing water for the short-term profit of a few who want to frack or drill for dirty oil and gas.

Enjoy these powerful words. I hope I’ll have a chance to meet her when I get to the Great Lakes.
